Who Are Our True Neighbors? — The Small Things That Truly Matter
It’s the little things that bring moments of joy to a person.
And that joy is worth more than all the gold in the world.
After all, we can’t take anything with us when we leave this life.
So, who are our neighbors?
Not just the people who live next door,
but everyone we encounter in our daily lives —
the colleagues we work with, the friends we share life with, the parents and teachers at our children’s schools, the people we cross paths with each day.
If we don’t notice one another — if we fail to give what we can, whether it’s a smile, a “good morning,” or a small act of kindness —
then who will remind us that we have worth and that God loves us?
Sadly, the world has become so focused on self-interest.
Our neighbor may be thirsty, yet we offer no water.
They may be cold, yet we give no covering.
They may be hurting, yet we push them deeper into their pain.
Let’s remember: love is shown through the simple things.
A smile, a kind word, a small gesture of compassion can change a life.
